Have your say on crime and policing where you live
The National Public Confidence in Policing Survey is a major research study exploring people’s views and experiences of crime, anti-social behaviour and policing across the UK.
The survey is being delivered through Neighbourhood Alert by VISAV on behalf of the College of Policing and the National Police Chiefs’ Council, who are working with researchers from the London School of Economics and University College London.
The research aims to improve understanding of what shapes public confidence in policing, how confidence changes over time, and what impact neighbourhood policing has on local communities

Why take part?
Your views matter.
We want to hear from people with a wide range of experiences and opinions, whether positive, negative or somewhere in between.
You do not need to have had contact with the police to take part. Every response helps build a better understanding of what matters most to local communities.
The findings will be used to:
Improve neighbourhood policing
Inform policing policy and practice
Identify ways to build public confidence in policing
Better understand local priorities and concerns across the UK
Before you begin
Taking part takes three simple steps. Registration with Neighbourhood Alert comes first, allowing us to securely compare your responses over time and understand how views of policing change throughout the research.
Registration is free, secure and private, and you can leave at any time. You can also choose to receive useful local updates from your own police force through the service which is used by more than 95% of UK police forces.
